The Berwick Bank wind farm, located in the outer Firth of Forth, is Scotland’s largest wind farm with 114 turbines. It is projected to cut carbon dioxide emissions by eight million tons each year.
However, there are concerns about its impact on marine life, particularly the increased ocean noise that may affect the behaviour of fish, whales, and other species. Additionally, the introduction of electromagnetic fields could influence navigation, predator detection, communication, and the mating abilities of fish and shellfish.
