Situated in the Little Langdale area of the Lake District National Park, “Cathedral Caves, is a small network of interconnected quarries. Unlike natural caves, it is actually a former slate mine, with its origins tracing back to the 16th century. In 1929, the site was acquired by Beatrix Potter, who subsequently donated it to the National Trust.
