The Pulhowan Waterfall cuts through the Wood of Cree, an ancient woodland in the Galloway Forest, Scotland. The wood is shaped by two rivers, the Cordorcan Burn and the Pulhowan Burn, which flow into the river Cree.
The Cree was a source of power for the textile mills in Newton Stewart and flows onwards into the Solway Firth.
